It is clear that ski and snowboard enthusiasts rave about the Zell am See – Kaprun ski area. But even off the slopes, your winter holiday will be amazing. Cross-country ski trails invite you to glide silently through the snow-covered landscape. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, admire the glittering snowflakes in the winter sun and just enjoy. When it gets dark in the evening, this does not detract from the cross-country skiing pleasure as some of the tails are floodlight.

Action and fun is guaranteed by a toboggan run on the natural toboggan run on the Kitzsteinhorn or on the Schmittenhöhe. At the Maiskogl, austria’s first year-round Alpine roller coaster awaits you with the”Alpine Coaster Maisiflitzer”roller coaster. As you whizz down the mountains in a two-seater at up to 40 km/h and the wind blowing in your hair, you will feel as if you have gone ski jumping in some places.
And if you are not looking for sports and adventure, you can simply relax in the nearby Tauern Spa, or admire Europe’s largest open-air art space with its oversized sculptures on the high-altitude walk on the Schmittenhöhe or take trips to the ICE CAMP on the Kitzsteinhorn.
