Winter in Kaprun
The three mountain ski areas of the Zell am See – Kaprun ski area, the Kitzsteinhorn, Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe are all over 3,000 meters. The glacier ski area on the Kitzsteinhorn is the one that has the longest ski season. It starts in late autumn and lasts until late spring. The Maiskogel and the Schmittenhöhe score – just like the Kitzsteinhorn – with their perfect infrastructure. Perfectly groomed runs for all levels, as well as the numerous fun parks and opportunities to enjoy the fluffy deep snow off-piste. With us, the whole family gets their money’s worth, because your children are also well taken care of. There are numerous ski schools in the region with supervised activities for the little ones to make sure they enjoy their time on the slopes.

Not only children's eyes light up with us -
also the cross-country ski trails do this from time to time
Because when it gets dark in the evening, you can also skate through the glittering snow at night thanks to the floodlight system. Winter and snowshoe hikes as well as ski touring routes complete your winter holiday in Zell am See – Kaprun.
Holidays with
the family
Action and fun for the whole family can be had with a toboggan run on the Kitzsteinhorn or on the Schmittenhöhe. The “Alpine Coaster Maisiflitzer” is also in a class of its own. This is the first-round Alpine roller coaster in Austria where you can whizz down the mountain at 40 kimometres per hour.

Walk &
relax
Not far from the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten by VAYA you will find the Tauern Spa. It has numerous pools where you can relax those tired muscles, you enjoy excellent treatments and your children can really let off steam. Another notable trip is to go on the high-altitude walk on the Schmittenhöhe with Europe’s largest open-air art space or the ICE CAMP on the Kitzsteinhorn. Here you can admire the unobstructed view of the glacier, experience art installations or just simply chill out and catch some rays.
