Winter holidays at Achensee
Five picturesque villages, located against the backdrop of the snow-capped Karwendel and Rofan mountains form the Achensee ski area. It is best known for its extensive cross-country skiing trails, with more than 200 kilometres of cross-country trails available for all levels. There are four ski areas for ski or snowboarding, with runs for all levels, from the beginner to the experienced.
Magic moments
You can also experience the magical landscape from a winter hike which will allow you to discover new trails through the forest and mountains, with more than 150 kilometers of trails. Popular destinations for winter hikers are, for example, the valleys of the Karwendel Nature Park near Pertisau with its gentle gradient.
On request, you can also set off with a park ranger – then you will also learn a lot of interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the Lake Achensee and its surroundings. Or maybe a romantic carriage ride or a wild toboggan ride at Lake Achensee. You have the choice of a total of six natural toboggan runs, which guarantee a fun slide for all ages.
Hiking, wellness & panorama-bath

In Achenkirch you can save yourself the climb, as in winter the Rodlexpress ski lift takes you up to the top until 8 pm, up to the starting point at the Rodlhütte – where you can enjoy regional cuisine and drinks. Thanks to the floodlight system, you can take you time coming down, until 11 pm. If you are looking for a day at the spa during your winter holiday, the Atoll Achensee is the perfect trip for you. The leisure center in Maurach has a light-flooded panoramic indoor swimming pool as well as an outdoor pool, a penthouse spa, a gym and a climbing wall.
