Skiing area at the Kitzsteinhorn
The holiday resort Zell am See – Kaprun is a winter wonderland. In the Kapruner region lies the Kitzsteinhorn glacier with an altitude of 3,000 meters above sea level it can be skied all your round. From the VAYA Kaprun you are in a few minutes, at the valley station to the cable car, that takes you up to the Maiskogel ski area.

Glide silently on our cross-country ski trails through the enchanted winter landscape – on the night trail you can even skate through the glittering snow under floodlights. Or experience the mountains on the wild side. How about, a toboggan ride on the natural toboggan run on the Kitzsteinhorn or on the Schmittenhöhe?
Off-piste adventure
It’s even faster at the “Alpine Coaster Maisflitzer”. This is the first year-round Alpine roller coaster where you whizz down the mountain at 40 kmph, a thrill for young and old. Other winter activities in Kaprun and Zell am See are ski tours and snowshoe hiking routes. Particularly popular are trips to the ICE CAMP on the Kitzsteinhorn or a high-altitude walk on the Schmittenhöhe mountain where Europe’s largest open-air art space with more than 29 oversized sculptures awaits you.
