Summer Holiday in Pfunds

Pfunds

Summer retreat in the Tyrolean Alps

The mountain summer in Pfunds is in no way inferior to the winter. You can take long walks in the valley as well as hiking tours through the Tyrolean mountains.

A mountain summer full of possibilities

For those who love hiking and cycling in the mountains, the Tyrolean Oberland is a must. About 200 marked hiking trails, walking trails, mountain and high mountain tours, valley and long-distance hiking trails are waiting to be discovered. Past high peaks, lively mountain streams, enchanted forests, idyllic alpine pastures and rustic huts. The hosts are happy if you stop by them to strengthen you. Especially for children, the themed hiking trails such as the “Tree Horoscope” are a hit.

Cycling fans, whether by mountain bike or e-bike, whether comfortably in the valley or high above the tree line, whether on road bike routes or enduro trails, all are welcome here. The scenery could not be more picturesque: along villages and lakes or on a summit tour into the high mountains with a sensational vista.  Summer or not, you’re a snow fan? If you like to be on skis or snowboard even in summer temperatures, the Kaunertal Glacier is the right place for you. You can indulge in winter sports here until June.  And it’s so easy: Just drive your own car up to 2,750 meters altitude directly to the slopes.

Unforgettable moments

Would you rather splash around than do too much sport in the mountains? Then off to a mountain lake, if the many outdoor pools are not enough for you. In the water, however, it can also be wilder in the Tyrolean Oberland. When rafting in white water or canyoning you get the well-deserved adrenaline rush. By the way, you can also get it, when paragliding or tandem flying. Seeing the Tyrolean Alps from a bird’s eye view is an experience that is second to none. It is also adventurous for young and old in the forest rope park Pfunds in the Inn gorge.

In eight to 15 meters above the ground, you climb along the treetops before flying over the Inn with the Zip Line.  If that’s not enough for you, the region around Pfunds offers numerous via ferrata and walls.  Are you looking for something completely different? How about bogeyshooting on a 3D course? Or have you ever been kiting or sailing at Lake Resia in the middle of the mountains? By the way, there is a church tower protruding from the water, which you can take a closer look at from the boat.

Excursion destinations

If you want to see more of Austria, take a trip to the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck. Richly surrounded by mountains, it gives a particularly picturesque picture.  Explore the many castles and palaces in the area, such as the medieval walls of Altfinstermünz. Are you drawn to Italy? Merano, one of the most beautiful cities in South Tyrol, is only an hour and a half drive away. There you can enjoy the best of both worlds: the Mediterranean flair of Italy, in the middle of the South Tyrolean mountains. Just as long, one and a half hours, you drive to the Swiss noble town of St. Moritz. There you can catch a bit of glamour and extravagance and dine wonderfully. The place is worth a visit even in bad weather: St. Moritz can statistically look forward to 322 days of sunshine a year.
