Obergurgl in summer
Obergurgl is located at the end of the Ötztal at almost 2,000 meters above sea level. This makes the Tyrolean Mountain village one of the most snow-reliable ski areas for winter sports in Austria, with numerous winter experiences off the slopes. During the summer months, the altitude provides incomparably beautiful panoramic hikes, mountain bike routes with stunning views and exciting excursion destinations.

As a winter sports resort, the mountain village of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, called Gurgl for short, is widely known. But even in summer, the Ötztal offers everything you need for a successful holiday in the mountains. Its altitude of 2,000 meters offers impressive views and an impressive panorama at almost every corner. Hiking fans enjoy the well-developed network of hiking trails with its varied tours, some of them, such as the Piccard circular route and the lakes tour, are particularly beautiful and offer wonderful panoramic hikes. You can experience the diversity of the region on foot at your own pace. The tours lead through pine forests, past quiet mountain lakes and rushing mountain streams. Challenging ferrata routes and long-distance hiking routes inspire experienced mountain enthusiasts. An example is the section of the European long-distance hiking trail E5 known as the queenstage, which starts in Obergurgl and leads over the Timmelsjoch to South Tyrol.
