So close to heaven
One kind of person sees the mountains as impressive rock formations that are worth enjoying and perfect for a stroll. Some others see them as an adventure playground, a challenge, an obstacle on the way to the top. Climbers probably belong to the latter. Because they only want one thing: to get to the top! One step and hand hold at a time, they move higher with an elegance that makes even many a mountain goat tremble with awe! The Seefeld region is a dream destination for climbers.
Climbing in the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains
This is no coincidence. It’s a tradition. Since 1922, many a rock face has been conquered some on all fours, but always on the way up! Pioneers and professionals such as Bernhard Pommer, Reini Scherer, Heinz Zak and Bernhard Hangl have shown how to climb in Seefeld. In addition to the obstacles that nature has put in place, in the landscape, there is also the opportunity to try the sport indoors in the Seefeld region. But we stay outside for now.
Climbing professionals and those who want to become one, will find a selection of different trails in the Seefeld region. They differ in type and difficulty. But all are safe and secure and guarantee a wonderful and enjoyable adventure for all. In addition, there are many via ferratas trails. One of the highlights is the Seefeld Panorama via ferrata.
The start is located at 1960 meters and you end at 2,220 meters, so you climb an impressive 260 meters with a total length of the trail at 475 meters, it challenges you with the difficulty level C. You can conveniently rent the climbing equipment, directly from the Rosshütte cable cars. Once at the top, you should reward yourself with a coffee (and by that we mean: beer) in the panorama restaurant Rosshütte. And enjoy the view. From here, the cable car will take you back down.
Climbing fun in any weather
If the sun fails to shine or if there is a winter fog and you cannot climb outside, not to worry you don’t have to be sad. The modern climbing halls around Seefeld has climbing walls you can climb in any weather. In the climbing center Innsbruck, for example, 500 climbing routes and 200 bouldering routes are waiting to be discovered.
In the climbing center Telfs, you can let off steam on an area of 1,400 square meters. With 180 bouldering and 100 rope routes, you won’t get bored, right? If you are still missing one or the other piece of equipment or you want to rent the latest equipment, there are three shops and rental points directly in Seefeld – just a few steps away from VAYA Seefeld . As you can see, climbing in Seefeld is not only an adventure, but also a pleasure.
