Nichols calls the deep connection between humans and water “Blue Mind.” He attributes them to the fact that both the brain and the earth are 80 percent water.
On the other hand, a dip in a clear lake is of course a welcome cooling off on hot summer days. In the water, it nice to feel like a child again, to romp around with family and friends, without a care in the world. Swimming is also a particularly healthy way of exercising. It protects the joints, gets the cardiovascular system going and trains the heart muscle. Did you know that swimming also scores in terms of calorie consumption and that the entire body is exercised?
