Everyday life can be quite stressful. All the better if we know a few tricks and techniques to relax easily and let go of stress, at least for a few minutes.

A few tips:

  • Narturing oils

A good skin care oil not only pampers the skin, it also provides relaxation through its fragrance. Make sure that it does not contain any mineral oils, rather use a natural oil. To unfold the maximum range of fragrances, mix your skin care oil with a few drops of essential oil and let the scent of almond, lavender or orange oil beguile your senses. You will also need a good facial oil for our next relaxation tip, the facial massage.


  • Facial massage

You can give yourself a facial massage. And the best thing is: not only is the massage an absolute relaxation boost, the touch also has a positive effect on microcirculation and lymph flow, which is good for the skin. Start by stroking the whole palms of your hands over your cheeks, from the nose towards the ears. Then stroke your forehead and neck, always from the centre outwards.

This is how you activate your lymph. The so-called “thinker’s crease” also needs to be taken care of. It is wonderfully relaxing to wipe with your index and middle fingers from the root of your nose upwards with pressure. Do the same with your eyebrows – wipe with pressure from the inside to the outside along your eyebrows. Repeat as often as it feels good. If you also want to massage the neck, remember: never massage downwards, only upwards.

  • Acupressure

Acupressure has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 5000 years to release energy blockages so that life energy can flow freely again.

It can be done quickly and inconspicuously, even in acute situations: There is an important point on your hand between your thumb and index finger. It is located at the soft spot where the bones of the two fingers meet. Press it firmly with the thumb and index finger of the other hand for at least 10 seconds, and repeat this procedure about three to five times on each hand.

The point between your eyebrows, the so-called “third eye”, is also happy about circular movements with the middle finger and sends relaxation impulses to the brain.


  • Breathe

Consciously take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. This signals to your autonomic nervous system that your body, muscles and brain can relax. This happens automatically and will bring you down from your stress level within a very short time.
