Sauna

Who doesn’t love it? Now that the summer is over and it’s getting cooler again, there’s one thing that makes us truly happy: the sauna. It’s wonderful when it gets cold outside and were hot inside. The sauna experience is also a feast for the senses. Not only the various aromatic oils that you can add to the infusion to invigorate the senses. Even the simple smell of wood, makes you happy.

Sauna as
an immune booster

And best of all, going to the sauna is extraordinarily healthy. It relaxes the muscles, stimulates the metabolism and strengthens your immune system. But be careful – only if you do it right. What is there to consider when taking a sauna? You would be surprised quiet a lot!

Good to know

  • Shower before going to the sauna. Not only for the sake of hygiene, but also to remove the greasy film on the skin.
  • Do not go wet into the sauna, otherwise sweating will be difficult.
  • Not too much and not too little: Do not go to the sauna on an empty stomach, also do not directly after eating.
  • The hot air always rises upwards. So, if you are not yet an expert, take a seat further down.
  • For the body, the best location is lying down, because then everything is in the same temperature zone. But if you sit down, then shake your legs from time to time to get the circulation flowing.
  • Stay in the sauna for a maximum of 15 minutes at a time, over this time it is not healthy.
  • Take a cold shower after the sauna, in this order: first the right foot, then over the right leg up to the right arm. The same then left. Only at the end comes the chest area. Do not use soap or shower gel, this would destroy the acid mantle of your skin.
  • And last but not least: Drink a lot to compensate for the loss of fluid due to sweating. Preferably unsweetened herbal tea, water or heavily diluted fruit juice.
