In Kühtai, ski fans discover more variety than they ever imagined possible! With your Kühtai ski pass in hand, you also get to use all the lifts and pistes in the Oetz ski area, too. Within just a few minutes, the free ski bus will bring you to Ochsengarten, where you will then be able to enjoy a pleasant ride on the gondola into the heart of the Ötztal ski area.

Night Skiing

Kühtai offers its guests skiing enjoyment even at night: The very well-lit piste extends your day of skiing.

Every Wednesday and Saturday from 7:30 until 10 p.m., the Hochalterbahn lift carries avid skiers and night-owls to the top of the brightly illuminated run. With a ski pass valid for 6 days or longer, night skiing is included for free.

Cross-country skiing

Glide through countryside blanketed deep in snow, as you enjoy a winter holiday that includes glorious panoramas of white peaks and snow-covered mountainsides. Our 15 km of trails are tracked for classic as well as “skating” technique.

Once your day of winter sports is over, unwind in the sauna or indoor pool of Hotel Astoria. If you prefer, of course, you can head straight for the sun-terrace or the Ice Bar, where you will be able to share stories of all your experiences with fellow guests who share your passion.

Ski touring

Paradise for Ski Tourers
The mountains that flank Kühtai are especially appealing to ski tourers in winter. On the one hand: because of elevations above 2,000 m, the season is very long. On the other: the mountainsides are ideal for ascents, while the downhills afterwards are a pure delight.

Different Kinds of Winter Sports

Tip: After completing the approximately 1-hour climb up to the Graf Ferdinand Haus, you will find yourself at the top of a great 2.5 km-long sled run that’s even lit up at night.
