Maximise your vacation days
Holidays are such a strange thing: everyone loves them, but one never has enough of them. Especially if you spend your holidays in a VAYA property in one of the most beautiful places in Austria, five weeks can be quite short. We know what it’s like. Fortunately, with a little clever planning, you can maximize your vacation time. Of course, the bottom line is that the number of days off always remains the same, no matter how you divide them. But what can you do with a single day off? Not much. But if you use your vacation days around the public holiday and weekend days you will create more contiguous days off in 2022. And during this time, it is worthwhile to drive away and head for the mountains.
Effective planning in winter
In 2022, the holidays may not fall perfectly, but they will be a little better than this year. The prelude is New Year’s Day and the feast of the Epiphany, remembering the three wise men who visited Jesus. Anyone who takes the four days off in between and does not have to work on 31 December suddenly has ten days off with the use of only four days. This is perfect for your first trip of the year. Maximize your Easter Holidays
In 2022 we celebrate Easter in mid-April. If you take four days off, you have nine days off — terrific, right? You apply for leave from the 19th to 22nd of April and have a well-deserved break from Saturday the 16th to Sunday the 24th 24 April. In mid-April it starts to get warmer again, the snow has melted almost everywhere and the hiking season begins. The ideal conditions for all those who like to spend an active holiday in the Austrian mountains. You can also maximize your vacation to enjoy the warmer weather to the fullest. In the VAYA Resorts you can do everything, but you don’t have to. Even if you are just rather sitting and relax outside, you will find the best conditions for your spring holiday with us.
Use the holidays in May and June
As always, Ascension Day falls on a Thursday. In 2022, the holiday will fall on the 26th of the month. If you take Friday off, you have a long weekend at your disposal. If you submit your leave request from the 23rd to the 25th of May and again for the 27th of May, you will get nine days off for four days of leave. If you want to make the most of Whit Monday (June 6th) and Corpus Christi (June 16th), you can take time off from the 7th to the 10th of June, from 13th to 15th of June and on 17the of June. Including weekends and in between days, this combination gives you 16 days off in a row. In June, you can not only be on the road in the mountains in a T-shirt, but also discover the beautiful lakes in the valleys and enjoy the sun to the fullest.
Maximizing holidays in summer: Assumption
August 15th, 2022 falls on a Monday. This brings you not only a long weekend, but with the use of four vacation days a whopping nine days off. You will enjoy your summer holiday from 13th to 21st of August.
National Day & All Saints’ Day
The national holiday in 2022 is a Wednesday. This results in several combinations. If you take time off from 24th to the 25th and from 27th to 28th of October, you will have free time thanks to the weekend of 22nd to 30th of October. That’s nine days. And if you also apply for Monday, October 31st you have eleven days. Then you can indulge in an active holiday in the mountains from 22nd of October to 1st of November inclusive. If you add three days of vacation to this combination (2nd to 4th of November), you have an incredible 16 days off. For the use of seven vacation days.
Window days in December
The Immaculate Conception falls on a Thursday in 2022. You can go on vacation for nine days from December 3rd to December 11th if you sacrifice four days of vacation: the 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th Christmas falls on a Saturday, New Year’s Day is a Sunday. Not much to pick up, right? On the contrary! Again, you can make a longer contiguous holiday with a few vacation days. If you take four days off (December 27th to 30th), you’ll be in chill mode for nine days at a time. And that’s not all. If you add four days in the new year, you can enjoy a total of 16 days of vacation from December 23rd, 2022 to January 8th, 2023.
